Nobody can download files through the shared link because of error: "402 Payment required".

Hi all!

I own a developer account with uploaded files, up to 10Gb together in different folders. I created links to share files with some people, but yesterday we received an error. When somebody trying to download files from the list (when opens a shared link), he gets only a 404 error.

When I trying to download files at the panel (UI), I receive an error "402 Payment required" in a browser's debug window and no message at usual mode.

At the Developer Dashboard I see 0% Storage used and 0% Transfer, that is strange. What to do and how to resolve this as soon as possible?

  • The API will only return a 402 payment required if you are over a quota. You can check your quota on the whoami endpoint.

    Since you are indicating that you only have 10GB out of the 100GB for storage in the developer account. You have most likely exceeded the transfer quota. Check the whoami endpoint for the tallies.

    The developer dashboard has some checking so that only the user that created the developer account can see the storage and transfer used. It is also checked in the JavaScript so if there is any error, then the fields won't populate properly. Check the whoami endpoint to see the actual tallies. https://app.smartfile.com/api/2/whoami/

    To resolve this as soon as possible, contact sales to discuss a paid developer account. Alternatively, you can wait until the tally resets.

    But I still cannot see anything about my transfer quota. Whoami values are "null" at this fields.
